Baranavichy: Leader of local entrepreneurs summoned to Prosecutor's Office
Mikalai Charnavus, leader of Baranavichy entrepreneurs, has been summoned to local Prosecutor’s Office for questioning. The activist says he received the summons on March 2.
“It is difficult to say on what issues the prosecutor's office wants to question me. But I think that this is linked, perhaps, to the appearance of a color poster calling for a boycott of President’s Decree No. 222, which was pasted near my work place at the local market on February 15. And, perhaps, I was summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the fact that on March 1 almost all Baranavichy entrepreneurs working at the local market and sell consumer goods stopped their work,” said Mikalai Charnavus.
On February 28, Mikalai Charnavus was also summoned to the police department of the Baranavichy city executive committee. Deputy Head of the Department Colonel Eldar Vilchkouski interviewed the activist about the need to respect the laws in the activity of entrepreneurs, which, according to Mikalai Charnavus, must inevitably increase as a result of the entry into force of the Presidential Decree on 1 March.
