Svetlahorsk police fail to identify persons who threatened Yury Liashenka
Svetlahorsk police keep answering to the repeated appeals of a civil society activist, disabled of the first group Yury Liashenka by saying they didn't manage to identify the protractors.
Back in August 2014, unidentified individuals foisted a note with threats on the door of the activist's apartment. The police failed to find the perpetrators. In autumn 2014 and in January 2015 Yury Liashenka received threat letters to his e-mail. Later, an unidentified person damaged the wheels of Liashenka's car, as a result of which he almost got in an accident. He had to appeal to the police and prosecutor's office again.
In March Mr. Liashenka received a reply from the district police department concerning the threats to his e-mail. “Establishing the identity of this person proved to be impossible, bringing a criminal case should be denied,” wrote the policemen.
Other answers from the DPD read: “There weren't discovered any facts indicating an attempt on your life. The sender of the threats hasn't taken any actions to fulfill the threats.”
What concerns the damage to the vehicle, the police stated that according to the traffic rules monitoring the state of the vehicle is the duty of its owner.
Yury Liashenka is outraged at the police inaction and is going to appeal these rulings.
