Vaukavysk activist Vital Huliak has filed an individual communication with the United Nations Human Rights Committee. It can be considered a double appeal.
One of its parts concerns the prohibition by the Vaukavysk District Executive Committee of a picket and procession in support of the Ukraine in January-February 2014. The other part concerns the administrative punishment of Vital Huliak for holding an unauthorized mass event: in March 2014 he was detained in Vaukavysk and sentenced to a fine for a picket in support of the Ukraine.
Appealing the verdict at the national level were unsuccessful, that's why Vital Huliak resorted to his right to appeal to the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations.
