Some providers block access to opposition websites
Some providers have blocked access to opposition websites charter97.org and belaruspartisan.org. The problems with access have been reported by subscribers of Belinfonet, IP Telcom and life.
A few years ago, the websites were included in the list of restricted access for users in government agencies, educational and cultural institutions.
This also applies to the website spring96.org. As reported by some visitors, the website is blocked for viewing through the mobile operator Life. Users are warned by the following message:
“Dear life :) subscriber. You have tried to visit a resource, access to which is denied on the basis of Presidential Decree No. 60 of February 1, 2010 “On Measures to Improve the Use of the National Segment of the Internet” (para. 4, Part 13), Presidential Decree No. 6 of December 28, 2014 “On Urgent Measures to Combat Drug Trafficking" (Part 5, para. 10), the Law "On Mass Media" of July 17, 2008 (Part. 3 of Art. 51- 1).”
Internet users also report blocking of websites by a number of other providers, including Business Network, Iptel.by, IP TelCom (Minsk and Homel) and Garant (Homel).
Representatives of Business Network’s technical support and that of ADSL.by admitted that they authorized the blocking. The press service of Life does not comment on the situation, but promised to soon issue a press release regarding the incident.
We remind you that in the top left corner of the website spring96.org there is a link “How to view a blocked website?”
