April 8, the publisher of the newspaper “Voĺny Horad” Uladzimir Kudrautsau paid a visit to the Kryčaŭ District Police Department with the aim to study the materials of the inspection, conducted by police officers on his allegations of unlawful actions of the chief of the department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Kryčaŭ District Executive Committee Maryna Maksimava.

Mr. Kudrautsau appealed to the duty department of the Kryčaŭ DPD with the request to be familiarized with the materials of the inspection conducted on his appeal. After a while, he was approached by the police department detective of the division for combating organized crime, Senior Lieutenant A. Dziameshka, who informed him that he would not be given such an opportunity. A. Dziameshka, who conducted this inspection, told Mr. Kudrautsau that he had already been sent the ruling about refusal from bringing a criminal case, where all discovered facts were set out. Uladzimir Kudrautsau asked to be sent a written answer with mentioning the reasons for the denial and senior lieutenant Dziameshka promised that he would certainly send it.

Mr. Kudrautsau is going to challenge the refusal to the Main Police Bureau of the Mahilioŭ Regional Executive Committee.

The journalists of the newspaper "Voĺny Horad" say that they can not agree with the conclusions of the police inspection. They believe that the police didn't thoroughly inspect the facts of violations set out in the appeal of Mr. Kudrautsau.

Let us remind that recently
the publisher of the newspaper "Voĺny Horad” Uladzimir Kudrautsau
received a response to his appeal to the Kryčaŭ District Prosecutor's Office concerning unlawful actions of
the head of the department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Kryčaŭ DistrictExecutive Committee Maryna Maksimava. The head of the Kryčaŭ DPD informed the applicant that no evidence of of theft and abuse of power by Maryna Maksimava had been found, as a result of which it was decided not to institute a criminal case. Kryčaŭ police carried out the inspections at the request of Uladzimir Kudrautsau more than four months. At first they tried to intimidate him, threatening to bring a criminal case for allegedly defaming the head of the ideological department.

In the decision to refuse from bringing a criminal case, Senior Lieutenant A. Dziameshka also wrote that some abuse by a former subordinate of Maryna Maksimava was found and a separate inspection would be held on these facts.
