Concert of Ales Dzianisau and Aliaksandr Pamidorau banned in Hrodna
Hrodna ideologues banned a concert of Ales Dzianisau and Aliaksandr Pamidorau. The even was to have taken on April 12 at a local synagogue.
Aliaksandr Pamidorau intended to sing his songs and perform several songs in Yiddish. Ales Dzianisau wanted to present a cycle of songs created on the basis of poems by well-known Skidzel journalist and poet Ales Chobat. However, Chairman of the board of the Jewish community of
Hrodna Barys Kviatkouski received a telephone call from the authorities, as a result of which the concert was banned.
This is not the first disruption of rock-concerts in Hrodna. Two years ago Ales Dzianisau held a successful concert with his band “Liudzi na Balocie” at Hrodna Regional Drama Theater. Since then, he has been actually banned in his native city: he is not allowed to perform in Hrodna despite touring extensively both in Belarus and abroad.
