Mikalai Statkevich to stand another trial
“The administration of the correctional colony has decided that he “hasn't mended his ways” and “intends to pursue a criminal lifestyle”, therefore his further detention in this highly moral institution is impossible,” wrote the prisoner's wife Maryna Adamovich at her Facebook account.
'Therefore, April 9 some commission of the Shklou correctional colony No. 17 decided to send him to prison until the end of his term. The date of the trial is not known so far. I know only that he already has 13 disciplinary penalties, 10 of which have been issued for “refusal to work”,” writes Maryna Adamovich.
According to her, Mikalai Statkevich is currently kept in a cell without daylight and is lead out for a walk only for 30 minutes a day. His conflicts with the colony administration started immediately after his transfer there from the Mahilioŭ prison and exacerbated on March 24, after he wrote a statement about refusing from the unlawful works on self-service. As explained by Maryna Adamovich, all prisoners have to do such work in turn, but not more than two hours a day. However, these norms weren't observed with respect to Mr. Statkevich.
