Human rights defender Natallia Harachka came to the embassy carrying a poster “Happy birthday, Nadiya Savchenko” and a portrait of the political prisoner, Belaruskaja Praŭda reports.
The activist was accused of holding a one-person picket, and her passport was seized.
“She didn't hold a rally or a mass event. But the police detained her and took her probably to the Tsentralny district police department of Minsk,” head of Legal Assistance to Citizens Aleh Vouchak said to Belaruskaja Praŭda.
Natallia Harachka is the mother of many children.
The Supreme Court earlier said that if one person stands with a portrait and does not call to any actions, it cannot be considered to be a mass event.
