Chocimsk activist warns “double official” about initiation of his deprivation of powers
May 13, Chocimsk activist Valery Karankevich appealed to the member of the Chamber of Representativs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, representing Kryčaŭ constituency №83, Chairman of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee Uladzimir Krautsou.
In his address Valery Karankevich, who rivaled Uladzimir Krautsou during the election of deputies of the House of Representatives in 2012, once again asks Uladzimir Krautsou about the impossibility of combining the postitions of a member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Hrodna REC. At the same time, Mr. Karankevich refers to the fact that 14 months has passed since the last reception of citizens by Mr. Krautsou as an MP who represents in the Chocimsk and other districts, included in his electoral constituency. Meanwhile, durig the previous reception, on March 13, 2014, Krautsou personally assured Karankevich that his being the chairman of the regional executive committee would not prevent him to perform the duties of MP.
According to Valery Karankevich, voters are unhappy with the status quo at the Kryčaŭ constituency №83. The situation has considerably deteriorated in the recent years despite the pre-electoral promises of Mr. Krautsou to improve the life of the region. Due to the deteriorating situation in the neighboring Russia the region's residents lost the opportunity to earn money there. Though the the socio-economic condition of their families has deteriorated, they are denied the opportunity to raise their concerns in front of the House of Representatives. The level of assistant MPs, who receive citizens instead of Krautsou in person, is not enough to address important issues.
Valery Karankevich informs Uladzimir Krautsou that after the appointment of the presidential election he is going not only to collect signatures for nomination of a candidate for president, but will also initiate the creation of an initiative group for revoking MP Krautsou and depriving him of his powers. He also asks the MP to give him an answer within the statutory period.
