On May 22, the Homieĺ District Court heard an administrative case of local freelance journalist Kanstantsin Zhukouski. As a result, the freelancer was punished by a fine of 25 basic units under Article 22.9 of the Administrative Code (illegal manufacturing media products). Kanstantsin Zhukouski was accused of filming in the village of Čaracianka in March 2015. Later, the Belsat TV channel aired a story about an abandoned church in the village and the freelancer was charged with working without accreditation.

After the court hearing, Kanstantsin Zhukouski was filming near the court building and was detained by the police together with his colleague Natallia Kryvashei.

This is not the first sentence to the reporter for his professional work. In April, the freelance journalist stood two trials under Article 22.9 of the Administrative Code. As a result, the court sentenced him to fines.
