Vaŭkavysk entrepreneur Mikahail Autukhovich told the Human Rights Center “Viasna” that before the presentation in Vaŭkavysk of the book “Worm”, written by the former political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich, they were watched by several people in civvies.

At first Mr. Autukhovich noticed one man with a baby carriage, who was standing opposite the building where the event was to take place, watching the people.

“I can already recognize them by faces. He was just standing and looking, as if trying to count the people,” noted Mr. Autukhovich.

Soon, this “observer” was joined by two more people, who were also watching those who came to the presentation. One of them was constantly talking on the phone. When civic activists tried to approach the “observers” and ask them about the reasons for their unusual interests, the latter ones started to run away.
