Belarusian volunteers assist residents of IDPs' settlement near Kharkiv
Volunteers of "Belarusian Human Rights Humanitarian Mission in Ukraine" continue their work in Kharkiv. July 8, they got acquainted with the functioning of the modular camp for internally displaced persons, built with the assistance of specialists from Germany.
“Obviously, there is still not enough vegetation and fans. The settelement consists of about 80 houses, small children are playing everyhere. This settlement has been passed to Station “Kharkiv” and the volunteers continue rendering aid to the people there.
The volunteers' point is located in the local library. We quickly brought there many new clothes from England, and a stroller for twins. There were really brand new things, especially for infants. We counted them in order to know how to distribute the things among the people. The time went quickly and finally we managed to sort the things out according to the age categories. The point won't start working rightaway, there is still much to be done, but the work has begun, and this is nice! Food is prepared in the houses, the life continues. Some dwellers get pets (cats and dogs). There is also a good children's playground,” they write at the mission's FB account.
