Believers feel indignant at Belarus’ entry ban for BAOC head
The parish council of St Kiryl of Turaŭ protests against the ban on entering Belarus for the head of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
“His visits to his motherland are always expected by believers, and they give the spiritual support, which is so necessary in our times, to those who want to have spiritual guidance of the Belarusian church, and not of church structures subject to Moscow Patriarchate,” Rastsislau Haroshka, the chairperson of the parish council of St Kiryl of Turaŭ Cathedral in New York, writes in a letter to Radio Liberty.
On July 31 at the border crossing point Novaja Huta, Homieĺ region, border guards did not allow Archbishop of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Sviataslau Lohin to enter the country. He was to visit Belarus on the invitation of the BAOC believers.
