Belarusian Social Democratic Party denied in holding rally on Day of Struggle for Decent Working Conditions

This was reported by the Chairman of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) Aliaksei Sihayeu.

According to the social-democrat, the appeal for the rally was filed by him, as well as by the head of the Minsk regional organization of the party, Anatol Sidarevich. The event was to have taken place October 7 in Banhalor Square in Minsk.

“I phoned to the Minsk City Executive Committee to find about the fate of our application. There I was told that I would receive a denial by mail. We still haven't received it,” says Mr. Sihayeu.

Meanwhile, the Minsk City Executive Committee sanctioned a rally of independent trade unions on October 7 in Družby Narodaŭ Park opposite McDonalds, at the crossing of Bahdanovič and Surhanaŭ Streets. The event will be held at 5-6 p.m.

It's worth noting that the reason for the both rallies is a considerable decrease of the welfare of ordinary citizens this year.
