In September, there were no positive developments in the human rights situation in Belarus, systemic and systematic violations still persisted. During the month, there was a further consolidation of the most negative practices developed in the preceding period: arbitrary preventive detention and punishment of civil society and political activists, harassment of journalists for contributing to foreign media, the impossibility of holding peaceful assemblies to express alternative opinions, bans on establishing independent associations.
