On 17 November, Brest Regional Court dismissed an appeal by local human rights defender Raman Kisliak against a BYR 350,000 fine for staging a picket of solidarity with the imprisoned Viasna leader Ales Bialiatski on 16 October.
15.11.2011 Trial on Filip Kirdun’s case to continue at 9 a.m. on 16 November
The trial of Filip Kirdun, charged with the use of obscene language towards police officers, continued today at the Frunzenski District Court of Minsk. Judge Liudmila Lapo agreed to question policemen Aliaksandr Birchanka and Siarhei Dounar, who had taken fingerprints from the defendant. They stated that he had called them “Lukashenka’s lackeys”, and police officer Sviatlana Kunitskaya, who is in charge of the procedure of dactylography in the Frunzenski District Police Department of Minsk, stated that Filip’s parents had paid a visit to the police department on 14 November and threatened to her.
15.11.2011 Babruisk: police warn Alena Toustsik
Alena Toustsik, one of the detained at the commemorative action held on 2 November, has been invited to a meeting with the police during two last days. The woman refused to meet, as her 2.5-year-old child was ill with bronchitis.
15.11.2011 Minsk: imprisonment for People’s Assembly
Aliaksandr Piatnitski was detained after the end of the People’s Assembly held in Minsk on 12 November. He was charged with insubordination to lawful demands of police officers (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Violations) and sentenced to 10 days of arrest.

14.11.2011 Haradok: Leanid Autukhou sues road police
Haradok-based political activist Leanid Autukhou has been deprived of his driver's license for a year and fined 280,000 rubles. He considers the punishment as politically motivated, because he had been stopped by a road policeman while returning from the People's Assembly in Vitsebsk on 8 October, and accused of a violation of traffic rules.
14.11.2011 Vitsebsk: Tatsiana Seviarynets treated as an old offender already
On 8 October Tatsiana Seviarynets, Vitsebsk coordinator of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, held the People's Assembly in Vitsebsk. On 26 October the police charged her with the “organization of an unauthorized mass event”. Two weeks later they also recalled that she had committed this “offense” repeatedly. That's why on 11 November they came to her home in order to draw a new violation report.

11.11.2011 Babruisk: organizer of People's Assembly sentenced to three days of arrest
The Babruisk City Court sentenced Kanstantsin Loktseu, Chairman of the organizing committee of the People's Assembly in Babruisk, to three days of arrest. Judge Natallia Sheheda found him guilty of participation in the “unauthorized action held on 8 October” (the previous People's Assembly).
11.11.2011 Vitsebsk Region Court again upholds ban on pickets
On 10 November the Vitsebsk Region Court considered the cassation appeal of human rights defender Leanid Svetsik against the verdict of the Chairman of the Chyhunachny District Court of Vitsebsk, Raman Dziahoda, upholding the verdict of the Chyhunachny District Court by which a picket ban issued to Mr. Svetsik by the Vitsebsk Chyhunachny District Executive Committee had been declared lawful.

10.11.2011 Valiantsin Stefanovich solicits for postponement of trial
The administrative trial of human rights defender Valiantsin Stefanovich concerning the exaction of unpaid taxes was to have started on 15 November at the Partyzanski District Court of Minsk. However, Valiantsin cannot appear at court that day for family reasons. That’s why he solicited for postponement of the hearings.
09.11.2011 Homel: Vasil Paliakou detained till trial
Vasil Paliakou, a member of the organizing committee of the People's Assembly in Homel, was detained after 4 p.m. on 8 November. At first he was taken to the Savetski District Police Department, and then – to a pre-trial detention center. He managed to inform his friends that he was charged under Article 23.34 of the Cofe of Administrative Offenses, “violation of the order of holding mass events”.
