15.11.2010 Activist of Belarusian Christian Democracy detained for stickers
The activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, 24-year-old Anto Kotau was detained in the night of 11-12 November in the Pershamaiski district of Minsk where he was posting stickers with the word ‘Retire!’ He was charged with violation of the sanitary norms under Article 21.14 of the Code of Administrative Violations.
11.11.2010 Members of BPF Party filed inquiries with Hrodna Border Group
The members of the Belarusian Popular Front Vadzim Saranchukou and Yauhen Skrabutan applied t the head of the Hrodna border group colonel I.Butkevich. They ask to explain why they had been detained and subject to personal examination (Mr. Skrabutan had been detained at the border crossing point Bruzgi (on the Polish border) on 5 November, and Mr. Saranchukou – at Pryvalka (the Lithuanian border).
09.11.2010 Journalist detained for attempt to interview potential candidate for President
At about 2.30 p.m. in Vitsebsk the police detained journalist Uladzislau Staraverau who was taking an interview from Uladzimir Pravalski and shooting him on video camera. Mr. Pravalski didn’t even manage to answer any of his questions, as the detention was conducted in five minutes after the beginning of the interview.

On 26 October Minsk City Court ruled to extend detention of a European Humanities University student Mikalai Dziadok, previously arrested on suspicion of attacking the Russian Embassy in Minsk back in August 2010. On 1 October, he was charged with attacking the General Headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.
20.10.2010 Siarhei Sliusar detained for Molotov cocktails
On 17 October, Babruisk police detained local activist of the Belarusian anarchist movement Siarhei Sliusar on suspicion of involvement in the attack on the town’s KGB department back on 16 October, when two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the building by unknown persons.
13.10.2010 Dziarzhynsk: member of electoral team of Andrei Sannikau detained by police
On 12 October the police detained Aliaksandr Tarnahutski who was collecting signatures in a apartment block. A police car drove up to him when he was standing at the house entrance. The police asked what he had been doing in the house. Mr. Tarnahutski answered that he was collecting signatures in support and Andrei Sannikaua and showed him his passport and certificate of a member of the electoral team. The policemen detained him and decided to draw up a report on absence of a retroreflector.

On 11 October the gays and lesbians of the world mark the Coming Out Day – the day when representatives of sexual minorities voluntary reveal their sexual orientation. Belarusian gays and lesbians marked this day by holding a street action in Minsk. Though they had applied for official permission on the eve of the action, the Minsk City Executive Committee didn't sanction the rally.

On 12 September afternoon an incident happened at the entrance of the central market of Brest. Three inebriated youngsters came up to the electoral picket of the potential candidate for president Vital Rymasheuski and said they would tear down the white-red-white flag that was raised by the picketers. They also clang to the member of the electoral team Zmitser Shukhrai, tried to hinder the work of the picketers and insulted the passers-by who came up to sign for Mr. Rymasheuski.

The human rights defender Siarhei Ustsinau stated that the suspect in an attack on the delinquents’ isolation center in Akrestsin Street who had spent 9 days in the pre-trial prison applied to the procuracy with a complaint in connection with improper conditions of detention.
11.10.2010 Minsk: activist of electoral team of Andrei Sannikau gets fined
On 11 October the Zavadski District Court of Minsk fined Illia Shcharbinski for violation of Article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Violations, ‘disorderly conduct’. The activist had been detained on 10 October, while going to his electoral picket with a flag of the civil campaign European Belarus (that is headed by Andrei Sannikau).
11.10.2010 Hrodna district: detention of activist of electoral team of Andrei Sannikau
On 10 October the activist of the electoral team of Mr. Sannikau Tatsiana Iliuchak was detained not far from the border crossing point Bruzgi where she was collecting signatures in his support. The border guards drew up a report about violation of the regime of stay in the border zone by her, after which she was released. Tatsiana may receive an administrative punishment in the case the report is passed to court.
11.10.2010 Police detain circulation of 'Vitebskiy Kurier' with interviews of potential candidates for presidency
The circulation of the newspaper was detained while its chief editor, Viktar Ramniou, transported it from the Russian town of Slolensk, where it is printed. The edition was registered in the Russian Federation, as the local authorities made it impossible to register it in Vitsebsk.
07.10.2010 Another suspect in ‘arson cases’ released from jail
On 6 October the human rights activist Barys Ashchepkau was released from the Minsk pre-trial prison.
