06.05.2011 Valiantsin Stefanovich: “We declare the convicts political prisoners”
The lawyer stated it in his interview to RFE/RL, commenting on the verdicts to Dzmitry Drozd, Uladzimir Khamichenka, Ales Kirkevich, Andrei Pratasenia and Pavel Vinahradau. Mr. Stefanovuch watched the whole trial of these participants of the protest action of 19 December 2010.
06.05.2011 Political confrontation in Ivatsevichy
Kazimir Karzhyneuski, a member of the United Civil Party from the village of Liubishchytsy in the Ivatsevichy district, addressed the Ivatsevichy district prosecutor with a request to check the legality of the court verdict concerning his administrative case.

A year ago, on 18 May, the Barysau police confiscated personal belongings from the apartment of an activist of the civil campaign Speak Truth! Viktar Harbachou, who is in forced emigration now for fear of political persecution and imprisonment.
06.05.2011 Vitsebsk: Siarhei Kavalenka serves arrest with breaks
On 1 April the criminal-executive commission sentenced the Vitsebsk activist of the Conservative-Christian Party Belarusian Popular Front Siarhei Kavalenka to 15 days of arrest for an alleged violation of the regime of personal restraint, to three years of which he had been sentenced to putting a white-red-white flag atop the main New Year tree of Vitsebsk on 7 January 2010.
06.05.2011 Baranavichy: association of Ukrainians Kabzar is denied registration
The Brest justice board refused to register the Baranavichy civil association of Ukrainians Kabzar. On 5 May the Chair of the Kabzar's organizing committee, Mikalai Charanavus, received an appropriate letter, signed by the Chair of the main board, S.Kalinouski.
06.05.2011 Human Rights Center Viasna marsk 15th anniversary
The Human Rights Center Viasna turns fifteen years at the time of the ongoing political lynching of the regime's opponents. Human rights activists cannot think about celebration in such a situation. However, it is possible to lock back at what have been done and set the goals for the near future. This is done by Ales Bialiatski, Chair and founder of the Human Rights Center Viasna.
