15.03.2013 Constitution Day action in Homel held under vigilant supervision of police
On 15 March Homel oppositionists held an action in honor of the Constitution Day. They went to the stops of the public transport with copies of the Constitution of 1994 and the newspaper "Narodnaya Volia" (as a symbol of free press).

15.03.2013 Siarhei Housha managed to get his cassation appeal considered after five months
On 14 March Baranavichy human rights defender Siarhei Housha received by mail a ruling of the head of the Supreme Court of Belarus Valiantsin Sukala abolishing the refusal of a judge of Brest Region Court (dated 4 October 2012) to consider his cassation appeal due to the alleged expiry of the terms of consideration.
15.03.2013 Vitsebsk dwellers demand publicity in "budget issue"
Aliaksandr Mikulin, an activist of 'Tell the Truth", and Anatol Hneuka, the head of Vitsebsk regional branch of the National organization of victims of accident at Chernobyl NPP, veteran of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) filed a letter to Vitsebsk City Council and Vitsebsk City Executive Committee, asking to publish information about the city budget for 2013 and distribution of the budget means at the website of the executive committee.
14.03.2013 Review-Chronicle of Human Rights Violations in Belarus in February 2013
Though the situation of human rights remained stably bad in February, an important event concerning the situation of political prisoners took place – On 9 February Vasil Parfiankou, a figurant of the "case of 19 December 2010", pardoned in 2011 and convicted in 2012 for violation of the conditions of preventive supervision, was released from the arrest house due to the end of the six-month arrest term. However, this fact brought no changes for the overall situation of political prisoners, as it could by no means be considered as a manifestation of change in the attitude of the Belarusian authorities to political prisoners. 11 prisoners of conscience are still kept in Belarusian prisons.

According to Nasta Dashkevich, wife of political prisoner and "Young Front" leader Zmitser Dashkevich, letters from Dashkevich reach other people for ten days, whereas the normal pace is just four. Mr. Dashkevich is serving a prison term in Hrodna cell-type facility.

13.03.2013 A year has passed since the execution of Kanavalau and Kavaliou: human rights defenders put new questions
The first anniversary of the execution of Uladzislau Kavaliou and Dzmitry Kanavalau, sentenced to death on charges of terrorism, is being marked this days. Pitifully enough, the exact date of the execution remains unknown: it is only known that it was conducted on 11-15 March.

The presentation of the book "By the local history paths of Zelva area" by Siarhei Chyhryn was to have taken place at Zelva district library on 15 March. It is the first such detailed book concerning the history and local core studies of Zelva and the surrounding areas. The author tells interesting details about famous people of Zelva region, the events which took place there for the last 200 years and his talented contemporaries living there.

Young Christian Democrats invite all interested persons to the memorial event "We Won't Forget!", dedicated to the memory of the missing politicians and journalists: Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski, Yury Zakharanka and Dzmitry Zavadski, and politician Henadz Karpenka who died in strange circumstances.

In the middle of March there turned a year since the execution of death convicts Uladzislau Kavaliou and Dzmitry Kanavalau. These days Uladzislau's mother Liudmila Kavaliova has received many letters and postcards from the people who don't believe her son is guilty and think that the trial was unfair and the verdict to the Vitsebsk boys was groundlessly severe.
