08.12.2008 Leader of entrepreneurs is suspected in larceny
Anatol Shumchanka, leader of the Perspective republican NGO, is suspected of minor larceny. As A.Shumchanka told to BelaPAN, on 5 December he received a writ from Maskouski district court of Minsk ordering him to appear in court for a trial on charges in minor larceny (article 10.5 part 1 of the Administrative Code on 17 December.

13.10.2008 Even children are interrogated concerning ‘blast case’
Yauhen Herasimenka, 9-year-old citizen of the village of Verameiki, was summonsed to the police in connection with the investigation of the case concerning the blast that had taken place on 4 July in Minsk. Yauhen’s mother informed about it Raman Razhdzestvenski, journalist for Krychau newspaper Volny Horad. According to her, the police were going even to take her son’s fingerprints. The boy was to have come to the police department on 9 October, but the mother did not let him go there to save him from possible psychical traumas.

The police have detained a citizen of Belarus who is suspected in relation to the blast that had taken place on 4 July in the morning in Minsk. Till lately, 21-year-old Alexander Koryk has worked at the Uladpradimpart enterprise.

01.10.2008 Alexander Chyhir starts serving arrest
On 1 October a public activist from Babruisk Ales Chyhir starts serving his 10-days’ arrest. He has been sentenced to this punishment within the frames of a criminal case that had been brought against him after an incident with a taxi driver. On 29 May the driver was driving Alexander, his wife and daughter home. The driver refused to issue a receipt to Chyhir and drove the passenger to the police station instead. There Mr. Chyhir was charged with threats to the driver, damage of the car and insubordination to the police. Though beaten by the police, Chyhir was found guilty and sentenced to ten days of jail. Despite the fact that the case was considered in summer, the politician is imprisoned only now.

Today the head of the Central electoral commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna has stated that at a polling station in Babruisk the OSCE observers had thrown down a ballot box and kicked it with their feet. In addition, they allegedly demanded that the electors gave their ballots to them.
15.09.2008 KGB ‘checks’ workers of Institute of History
In the second half of August and in the beginning of September KGB officers held a ‘voluntary’ questioning of workers of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus in connection with the 4 July explosion in Minsk. The ‘questioning’ was conducted in the working time. The KGB workers occupied the scientists’ offices and working places for it. Those who refused to participate in these measures are threatened with dismissal.

On 13 September a student of Bialystok University Aliaksei Trubkin received documents from Hrodna regional KGB department by post. According to them, the guy is to come to the court of Kastrychnitski district in Hrodna on 18 September, as he is charged with ‘extremism’.
