As said to the BelaPAN by the investigator of Minsk district police department Siarhei Bulko, on 30 May two Minsk dwellers, who were charged with destruction of the memorial crosses to Stalinism victims in Kurapaty forest near Minsk were amnestied.

As it follows from the answer of Minsk city executive committee, received by the co-chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party Aliaksei Shein, on 2 June the territory of the Druzhby Narodau Park will be cleansed. The BHD secretary Dzianis Sadouski was informed that the action near the maternity hospitals will hinder the public order.

On 29 May the court of Biaroza district issued an administrative punishment in the form of warning to Radio Racyja reporter Tamara Shchapiotkina for ‘violation of public order during a mass action’.

01.06.2009 Krupki: destruction of memorial cross to Communism victims

On 26-27 May policemen and workers of prosecutor’s office from Krupki pulled out the cross near the villages of Vialikiya and Malyia Zhaberychy in Krupki district. The cross was erected in memory of 55 local inhabitants killed by Communists. The surnames of the murdered people were enumerated. The list started with the surname of a commander of anti-Bolshevik resistance Yury Monich. There was also his graphical portrait on the cross.

On 28 May the co-founders of the civil human rights association Nasha Viasna received the decision of the Ministry of Justice On denial of the state registration to the civil association. The human rights defenders consider the reasons for the registration denial as unlawful.
