05.09.2014 BCD activist tells details of his detention

In the evening on September 3 in Minsk, the police detained an activist of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Dzianis Laikou for collecting signatures in support of prohibition of the most odious Russian TV channels in Belarus and putting Ukrainian TV channels on the air.

Activists of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy in the Hrodna region received 13 refusals to their 13 applications for information pickets in different cities.

15.08.2014 Council of Ministers refuses to raise an legal issue at Constitutional Court on request of Vitsebsk residents

Several dozen residents of Vitsebsk have signed a collective letter to the Council of Ministers to contribute to change the regulation of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee №881 "On Mass Events in Vitsebsk" and initiate an appeal to the Constitutional Court to verify compliance of this document with the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus. The regional coordinator of the movement "For Freedom" Khrystafor received a refusal.

The reason for the appeal was the information that the Brest Regional Executive Committee lent a ten-kilomenter part of the river of Mukhavets from the Border of Brest to the border with the Zhabinka district.

An activist of the “Young Front” Stanislau Bula was detained in Yubileynaya Street in Homel while walking. He was suddenly approached by police officers and offered to go with them to their car.

Brest activists of the regional organization of the United Civil Party were denied holding five pickets, aimed at promoting the values of state sovereignty and independence and the expression of solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their aspirations to preserve the integrity and independence of Ukraine.

As it is stated in the picket ban, signed by the deputy head of the Brest City Executive Committee Henadz Barysiuk it is stated that the picket could not be permitted, as some other actions, which were planned earlier, would be taking place in the park of soldiers-internationalists at the specified time.

July 9, co-Chairman of "Young Front" Andrei Tsianiuta filed a complaint to the Chairman of the Homel Regional Court against the verdict of the district court in his administrative case.

08.07.2014 Authorities permit just one BCD picket in over 100

Belarusian Christian Democrats applied for permissions to hold over 100 pickets in 41 cities and towns of Belarus, but just one of them was authorized. It will be held at 5-7 p.m. in Klichau, whose population is 7,000 at largest. The topic of the picket is the protection of children from alcoholism.

Orsha activists of the United Civil Party have filed three applications for holding pickets on July 27, the Day of State Sovereignty Declaration. They intend to hold all three events in the officially approved places: Park Heroyau, on the ground in front of “Aroniya” cafe and in the park of work and recreation of textilemen.

07.07.2014 Korban, Siarheyenka and Zhylko punished with arrest

July 4, the Partyzanski District Court of Minsk tried the “Alternative” activists Aleh Korban and Uladzimir Siarheyenka, detained on July 2, and activist of the United Civil Party Anton Zhylko, detained in his apartment in the morning on July 3, were tried and sentenced to arrest.
